What are the most common medical problems seen in your practice?
The most common conditions seen are;
heartburn, constipation and abdominal pain.
Evaluation of these complaints are very important. Often treatable conditions are found that could worsen if not addressed.
At what age should I get a colonoscopy?
Colonoscopy is recommended for all, above the age of fifty.
If you have a family history of colon cancer, medical findings or gastrointestial complaints that require investigation, you may need a colonoscopy well before that age.
Do I need to be examined before a colonoscopy is scheduled?
Yes. A full medical history and physical exam is necessary.Very often
we need to order labs, other diagnostic tests,( such as an EKG), or recommend
antibiotics prior to the colonoscopy.
